Well at work there are a few people that use iTunes and therefore have access to iTunes music shares. I decided a while ago that I wasn't going to store my music on my computer, so I play it off of my iPod instead.
One of my buddies wanted to listen to some new music so instead of using
Yamipod and copying over my music, I searched out for a way to use my iPod as an iTunes share. My search brought me to
Tangerine.
Tangerine is an application that allows you to publish music over the local network, using DAAP (Digital Audio Access Protocol). It runs on Linux, Windows, and Mac OS X and can connect to some apps like
iTunes,
Banshee and
Rhythmbox.
If you have your iPod enabled for disk use (
help) and you are displaying hidden files (
Windows help,
OS X help) you can point Tangerine to your iPod and voila!
